The CDMA/EVDO Rev. A editions of the Treo Pro are now available on Alltel and will start selling on Sprint on March 15.
Palm said the new browser will bring users "a new, full-featured, high-quality Flash supported browsing experience".
According to Palm, Treo Pro users can choose to browse in a mobile-optimized mode or in a desktop browser mode.
With IE Mobile 6, Palm said that "Microsoft brings the mobile web-browsing experience on par with what end users and developers have come to expect from their desktops - the ability to easily view web pages and multimedia on the web and best-in-class capability to complete transactions, from banking to checking in for a flight".
Over at Microsoft's Windows Mobile team blog, we can find a list of the IE Mobile 6's "cool features":
- Improved fidelity (support for full fidelity desktop rendering)
- Layout fixes to accommodate a mobile screen (text wrap)
- Enhanced Script and AJAX support (Jscript v5.7 from Internet Explorer 8)
- Improved multimedia experience (Adobe Flash Lite 3.1 for Adobe Flash content)
- Deeper integration with search
- Enhanced cursor navigation model
- Touch and gesture support – pan support
- Multiple zoom levels
- Easy switching between mobile / desktop versions of sites by specifying UA strings
The IE Mobile 6 is also coming to other new Windows Mobile 6.1 handhelds even as we wait for WM 6.5's actual launch later this year.
