Opera Fingertouch Available

Fingertouch is a technology which should improve your whole browsing experience. It was announced by Opera, you know, the guys that do all that tremendous work behind opera browsers.

Fingertouch, as the name suggests is going to help you manage web pages on touchscreen devices, especially those with smaller screens. Fingertouch will let you control the exact page element you are looking for, no matter how small the page is.

Here’s how the whole thing works:

1. User clicks on a part of the page, but due to closely spaced elements, it tricky to select the 'right' element.
2. Opera Fingertouch 'zooms in' on the page elements in question making it easier to select the 'right' one.
3. Visual confirmation of the 'right' element is provided by having it 'fly' towards the user.

Fingertouch is available in the beta version of Opera 9.5 for UIQ 3 but we’re hoping it will be available in other versions too. Check out the video below for a demo and follow the link for more Opera official news.
